Two-factor sign-in means a stolen password is not enough to get into your account. After your password, you enter a six-digit code from an app on your phone.
What you need
An authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Authy. Any app that supports time-based codes will work.
Turn it on
- Click your name or photo at the bottom of the left menu to open My Profile.
- Under Two-factor sign-in, choose Turn on two-factor sign-in.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you cannot scan, type the key shown into the app instead.
- Enter the six-digit code the app shows and choose Confirm and turn on.
- Save your recovery codes. Copy or print them and keep them somewhere safe. They are shown only once.
Signing in afterwards
Enter your email and password as usual. A second screen asks for the six-digit code from your app. If you have no access to the app, enter one of your recovery codes instead. Each recovery code works once.
Lost your phone?
- Sign in with a recovery code, then turn two-factor off and on again with your new phone.
- No recovery code? Ask an admin to open Settings, find Team sign-in security and choose Reset next to your name. You can then sign in with your password and set it up again.
Turn it off
In My Profile, enter your password and a current code, then choose Turn off.
